Machine learning and computer vision are widely applied in our daily lives. In this talk, the exploitation of face recognition algorithms with subspace approaches will be addressed to deal with varying environments, occlusion problems, and limited image resolution. An overview of the general concepts of improved subspace algorithms will be first presented. Loss of detailed information in low resolution images dramatically degrades performance in face recognition. To overcome this problem, face recognition systems based on image data retrieval techniques including multi-component generalized linear regression and kernel linear regression classifications will be overviewed.
