Students arrive for Second Bioinformatics Summer Institute

In June, undergraduate students from around the country came to the DTC for the second Bioinformatics Summer Institute (BSI).

The institute gives undergraduates a unique opportunity to learn about computational biology and bioinformatics. Students attend workshops for part of the time and spend most of their two months at the institute working in faculty labs on research projects. Faculty members from more than a dozen departments share their expertise with students. The DTC received funding from the National Institutes of Health and the National Science Foundation to run the institute each summer through 2006.
