Stergios RoumeliotisDTC Associate Director for Research Stergios Roumeliotis

STERGIOS ROUMELIOTIS has been awarded the following two grants:

  • "Collaborative Robust Integrated Sensor Positioning (CRISP)" in collaboration with Northrop
GrummanSponsor: AFRL (Air Force Research Laboratory)
    Duration: 03/15/11-07/15/14
    UMN Budget: $614,246

The objective of this project is to develop robust vision-aided inertial navigation algorithms that support cooperative localization of unmanned aerial vehicles within GPS-denied areas.

  • MURI (Multidisciplinary University Research Initiative) "CHASE: Control of Heterogeneous Autonomous Sensors for Situational Awareness"
Sponsor: AFOSR (Air Force Office of Scientific Research)
in collaboration with Nihar Jindal, Georgios Giannakis (UMN/ECE) and colleagues from UPenn and UC Berkeley
    Duration: 10/01/10-09/30/15
    UMN budget: $1,350,000

The goal of this project is to introduce active sensing and optimal estimation algorithms for distributed teams of autonomous vehicles that operate under severe processing and communication constraints.
