Canadian traffic data
In a supplement to its May 15 filing with
the Canadian telecom regulator, Bell Canada provided some information about its network
traffic growth. As can be seen from p. 12 of the Abridged Supplemental"
document, Bell Canada DSLAM traffic grew from about 26 Gbps at year-end 2003 to
about 124 Gbps at year-end 2007, for a compound annual growth rate of 48%.
Backbone traffic grew from about 37 Gbps at year-end 2004 to about 128 Gbps at
year-end 2007, for an annual rate of 51%.
