Consortium Program

The goal of the Consortium Program is to provide focused technology research opportunities for members of the DTC Affiliates Program. This will allow industries with synergistic business/technical missions to work as a team with a group of DTC faculty, researchers and graduate students who have a similar technological interest. Each Consortium would be comprised of a minimum of three industrial partners with a number of DTC faculty members. The program has the following attributes:

  • Formal agreement/contract
  • Intellectual Property (IP) rights
  • Participation in DTC Consortium Boards
  • Funding leveraged via DTC seed funding and external grants
  • Must be an Affiliates Program member to participate
  • Fees vary by Consortium; expected to be about $50,000 per year
  • Minimal University of Minnesota overhead fee of 6%
  • Residency Program
