The goal of the Consortium Program is to provide focused technology
research opportunities for members of the DTC Affiliates Program. This
will allow industries with synergistic business/technical missions to work
as a team with a group of DTC faculty, researchers and graduate students
who have a similar technological interest. Each Consortium would be
comprised of a minimum of three industrial partners with a number of DTC
faculty members. The program has the following attributes:
- Formal agreement/contract
- Intellectual Property (IP) rights
- Participation in DTC Consortium Boards
- Funding leveraged via DTC seed funding and external grants
- Must be an Affiliates Program member to participate
- Fees vary by Consortium; expected to be about $50,000 per year
- Minimal University of Minnesota overhead fee of 6%
- Residency Program
