Industrial Partnership Programs

The Digital Technology Center (DTC) is an interdisciplinary digital technology research and development center, funded by the university, industry, and government partnerships. The core missions of DTC are research and development, education and outreach to the community.

One important source of support for all of these missions is industry funded / university collaboration. There are currently three programs of support available to industrial partners.

Each program serves a specific function between DTC and industry and provides unique benefits and opportunities to those companies which support us in each area.

These programs are the primary vehicle used by the DTC to fulfill its role as the connection point between University of Minnesota research, researchers associated with the DTC, and industry. While the emphasis is primarily within the state of Minnesota, the center does involve industry and other institutions throughout the nation. With the wide variety and breadth of contacts expected, the research emphasis of the DTC will evolve in response to intellectual and commercial opportunities brought forth by our partners, as well as those of affiliated University of Minnesota researchers.

The cooperative interdisciplinary relationships that result through the DTC's Partnership Program are ideal for training the next generation of scientists and engineers in digital technology. In addition, research is strengthened in both the academic and industrial sectors. Finally, these programs will facilitate the transfer of leading edge digital technology knowledge to industry, government and other institutions.
