Email, printing, and password changes for UNIX account holders

We have set up a Unix system so that if you have a DTC Unix account you can change your UNIX password, read email and print. To use this system, ssh to shell.dtc.umn.edu.

For email, we have the following popular email clients

• pine
• mutt
• evolution

To change your DTC UNIX password, type:

passwd

To print files, use the lpr command. Some currently available printers are

This system is available for only these simple operations. It is not a computational resources. More powerful systems are available at the Supercomputing Institute, a part of the DTC. For more information on these systems, contact help@dtc.umn.edu.
