DDMC Resources

The Minnesota Supercomputing Institute and DDMC are both in the DTC. MSI offers several research core machines that may be available for research projects. Each core machine runs a version of the UNIX operating system. All Institute core machines can be used for serial and parallel codes written in C, C++, FORTRAN 77, and FORTRAN 90. The Institute also provides numerous commercial and public domain software packages such as: Matlab, Weka, CLUTO, SAS, R.

Core Computing Machines:

  • IBM BladeCenter Linux Cluster with 275 dual-core 2.6 GHz nodes.
  • SGI Altix Cluster with 11 shared memory machines and over 300 processors.
  • IBM Power4 a constellation of several shared-memory nodes and 344 processors.
  • Linux Cluster consists of 76 2-processor Netfinity nodes from IBM.
  • Unisys ES7000 Orion 430 with16 Intel Itanium 1.5 GHz
