DDMC Membership

Membership in the DTC Data Mining Consortium is by formal agreement outlining legal organization responsibilities and intellectual property ownership. Prior to joining the data mining consortium, a company must be an active participant in the DTC Affiliate Program which costs $10K/Yr.

DDMC Level 1 — $10K/Yr — Learning, Education, Information, Communication

• DDMC Two Data Mining Training Labs (2/Yr) — 2 seats
• DDMC Website (Except Level 2 — Project Information)
• DDMC Research Newsletter ( 2/Yr)
• DDMC Early Access to Reports & Papers
• DDMC First Access to Summer Intern Recruiting
• DDMC First Access to Graduate Student New Hire Recruiting

DDMC Level 2 — $50K/Yr up — Shared Research Projects & Technology Development

• Research Project Participation & Direction
• Member Day Project Review Meetings — 2/Yr
• Data Mining Conference 1/Yr — 2 Registrations / Presentation
• Shared Ownership of Intellectual Property
• Leveraged Research Funds of Companies & Agencies
• Facilities and Contract Management Resources

As a Level 2, member a company can participate in shared research projects or privately sponsored research projects as outlined below.

Shared Projects

• Funded by multiple member companies
• Common objective among multiple member companies
• Professor(s) and Graduate Student(s) per Project
• Funding graduate students, summer faculty, direct research activities
• Generally Pre-competitive, Non-proprietary, Publishable
• Intellectual Property — Shared Ownership
• Member-in-Residence Program Available
• Can leverage 3rd Party / Government Funding Sources

Privately Sponsored Projects

• Funded by a single member company
• Member specified objective(s)
• Professor(s) and Graduate Student(s) per Project
• Funding graduate students, summer faculty, direct research activities
• May be proprietary but publishable in approved form
• Member-in-Residence Program Available
• Intellectual Property Terms TBD
• Supports DDMC Infrastructure
