Technology Day Camp

Monday, August 17, 2009–Wednesday, August 19, 2009

Center for Distributed Robotics and the Digital Technology Center

The Center for Distributed Robotics and the Digital Technology Center at the University of Minnesota are sponsoring a technology day camp for sixth, seventh, and eighth graders on August 17–19, 2009. Your child is strongly encouraged to apply to be one of a group of thirty students from throughout the Twin Cities selected to attend. Both breakfast and lunch will be provided. Students attending the camp this year will have the following opportunities:

  • Tour fun and exciting labs on campus.
  • Program a computer using Alice.
  • Build a robot bug that seeks out light, which the kids get to take home.
  • Participate in the "Robot Olympics" using the Scout and Explorer robots.

The camp is held on the beautiful University of Minnesota campus. Each day will begin at 8:45 and end at 3:30. Parents are responsible to drop students off no later than 8:45 am to allow time for breakfast and pick up their students promptly at 3:30 pm.

If your child would like to attend:

  1. Complete the online registration,
  2. Download, print, and sign the medical authorization and media release forms: Authorization forms download, pdf
    (You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view/print the authorization forms, you can download the software here Get Adobe Reader),
  3. Mail all forms to:

Space is limited, but once selected, you will receive an information packet with further details, and if we are unable to accommodate your child, you will also be promptly notified.
