Stark Conference Poster

A number theory conference will be held on the occasion of Harold Stark's 65th birthday. It will be devoted to work related to his many contributions on class numbers, Stark conjectures, diophantine approximation, modular forms, and other areas.

Those wishing to contribute a talk are invited to submit a title and a short abstract by May 3, 2004 to starksub@dtc.umn.edu. Preference will be given to presentations by Harold Stark's students and collaborators, and to talks related to his interests.

Some travel support is available for participants through the generosity of National Science Foundation and the Number Theory Foundation. This funding is targeted at active mathematicians without additional support, especially junior researchers. To apply, please send to starksub@dtc.umn.edu by May 20, 2004 an application consisting of a proposed budget, a current cv, and a justification for the request.

We hope that you will join us in honoring Harold Stark at what we believe will be a stimulating and exciting conference.

For Harold Stark's mathematical ancestors as well as progeny, together with a list of his publications and some additional tidbits and pictures, see http://www.mtholyoke.edu/~aschwart/stark/.
