Exploring Temporal Collaborative Filtering to Support Behavior Change: Collaborative filtering has proven effective in helping connect people to information, products, and services they find valuable.

Collaborative filtering has proven effective in helping connect people to information, products, and services they find valuable. This project explores the temporal dimension of collaborative filtering: how do people's tastes change over time? Researchers in the past have largely ignored the temporal dimension, which may have important implications when the goal of a recommender system is to support behavior change among the users. The project is a collaboration with Unilever Corporate Research, which has deployed kiosks in rural India to provide personalized recommendations to customers of information and products to better help the users achieve their personal goals.
